‘The genesis of my work is the idea of the clash between the real world and the world that exists just beyond our perception – the interaction between reality and the surreal elements which sometimes come to disturb it. In my work there’s a constant search to generate characters and tell stories, with each image containing within itself the past and future of each hero. My work always begins with a drawing. The drawing acts as a guide for what I am trying to achieve and has always been fundamental to my work. In photography, I have found the best way to make my drawings a reality.’
